It’s been a few weeks since my last WIP post. That’s the way of it, this year. Trying to do one every week seems a bit redundant, since it’s often the same flavour of post, good intentions aside. Anyway, here’s another one. (more…)
The first issue of Occult Detective Quarterly is now available for purchase, and as is only proper for a magazine with that title, it includes a story by me, myself and I. “Orbis Tertius” finds St. Cyprian and Gallowglass investigating a cursed artefact of a most unusual sort, as a monstrous evil seeks to consume the membership of London’s Voyagers Club. I’ve been remiss in pointing out some new stuff that’s come out recently. And by new stuff, I mean books, which you can buy, if you’re of a mind. (more…)
The kind gentlemen over at the Microphones of Madness podcast have composed a two-part review of Dark Regions Press’ new anthology, The Children of Gla’aki, which includes my story, “Squatter’s Rights”.
“Squatter’s Rights” finds Charles St. Cyprian, the Royal Occultist, and his assistant, Ebe Gallowglass, facing off with the monstrous Gla’aki and his followers, on behalf of a friend with poor taste in lakefront properties.
Children of Gla’aki is available as an ebook, trade paperback or deluxe hardcover from Dark Regions Press.
I guess it’s appropriate then, that the third and, sadly, final issue of SARGASSO: The Journal of William Hope Hodgson Studies is now available for purchase. I’m proud to say that among the 150 + pages of William Hope Hodgson related essays, review, fiction and poetry is my story, “Corpse-Light”. (more…)
Sam Gafford, editor for SARGASSO: The Journal of William Hope Hodgson Studies, has announced the table of contents for the third (and, sadly, final) issue over at his site. Included in the 150 + pages (!) of essays and fiction is my Hodgson-inspired story, “Corpse-Light”.
“Corpse-Light” features the duo of Harley Warren and Randolph Carter, and finds them investigating an abandoned house, overrun by strange, fungal growths, on an island off the coast of Charleston. Warren and Carter have appeared in my work before, in the short stories “The Savage Dreamer” (Innsmouth Magazine, 2011), “The Bells of Northam” (Lovecraft eZine, 2013), “Dead Man’s Tongue” (The Dark Rites of Cthulhu, 2014) and “The Briggs Hill Path” (The Song of the Satyrs, 2014).
